This message provides important deadline information for employees who plan to retire from HCPS at the end of the 2025 - 2026 school year.
Participation in the Post‑Retirement Earnings Plan (PREP)
In accordance with School Board Regulation R4‑04‑005, employees who wish to participate in PREP must submit their application no later than February 2, 2026. To apply:
submit a signed letter stating your intent to retire and your request to participate in PREP to Dr. Nancy Jones‑Oltjenbruns, Assistant Director of Human Resources
indicate your preferred work schedule option of either 28 days or 35 days
Retirement Without Participation in PREP
Employees who intend to retire but do not plan to participate in PREP should submit a retirement notification letter to Dr. Jones‑Oltjenbruns by March 2, 2026, as outlined in School Board Regulation R4‑04‑004. While retirement notifications may be submitted at any time, meeting the March 2nd deadline ensures timely processing of benefits for individuals retiring effective July 1, 2026.
